Steps, few but good ones...

Dear Readers:

Thank you, for your patience - I have not posted in a while. Although, we still do not have a designer or branding professional available to volunteer for our NYS CRC Marketing initiative - the campaign continues to move forward, through the help of counselor and student volunteers.  Also, I have joined the Brooklyn Tech Meet up group with the plan of networking and meeting contacts that could help with the above initiative.
More Updates...

I will be sending an e-blast with all the 2013 NYS CRC Licensure Updates and planned CRC Actions before the end of March.  One major difference this year is the support we are getting from the NYS Senate office's in our mission to convince Assemblywoman Deborah J. Glick, Chair, Committee on Higher Education, Assembly District 66 - to sign our licensure bill into law (Note: she has vetoed it for the past 7 years).  The information sent through e-blast will be posted here:

On April 5th, I will be presenting at the membership training meeting - on the topic of: NYS CRC Licensure and on NYS CRC Identity Branding and Professional Marketing.  The two topics are frankly intertwined and cannot succeed without the other.

I hope you can make it to the training.  The info and results will be posted on

We had our first marketing meeting on 11/27/12

The meeting was held at NYCEDA, LLC in midtown Manhattan.    Only students were able to make the meeting (undergraduate and graduate) despite the availability of telephone and video conference set up. None of the designers or counselors (CRC's) were able to make it.    I am thinking for this project to work we need to recruit students for all areas of the project.  All those present agreed.

Undergraduate students for their interest in volunteering in human and social services, graduate students for their interest in furthering their profession through the use of branding and design students who are hungry for some real experience and references.

Student recruitment for the NYS CRC Marketing Committee is in progress... Our next meeting is in mid January but we have so much to do in the meantime.

 Starting Fall 2012

It will be interesting to see how a group of counselors and volunteers from the IT, marketing and design industries try to brand and create an identity for certified rehabilitation counselors in New York State.  One way we will know if we have succeeded, is if we become licensed in NYS within the next few years.  Our future is at stake.  Stay tuned...
